It's winter, the snow is falling and the temperature is dropping!!! Everyone is worrying about getting their bread, milk and junk food so that they will be able to survive the storm but have you given a thought to your pipes possibly freezing?
One of the signs that a pipe is frozen is when no water is coming out of your faucet when you turn it on. If you notice that, first head to your basement or garage to check to see that the water is still turned on and that you don’t have a leak. Once you’ve confirmed these things, continue your inspection to make sure none of your pipes have burst.
If your search reveals that your pipes are frozen but none have ruptured, you need to call a plumber and beg him to drive through the blizzard to help thaw your frozen pipe. This is a good idea if you don’t think you can safely thaw the pipes yourself, you don’t know where the frozen pipes are or you can’t get to the frozen area.
Here is to no frozen pipes and a fun snow storm with lots of netflix and bread & milk sandwiches!
